I have an external hard drive attached to my HR-23. I am thinkin of switching companys. Have not decided if going with cable or DISH. My question is, will I be able to access what is stored on my external hard drive by any other method if I cancel DTV?? Thanks in advance for the help.:)

Nope. Need to copy it to a computer using a video capture card, or a DVD recorder before shutting down service.
