Just tell them to add you to their do not call list.

No tell them you just want the red zone and don't want pay $300 $200 or even $100 for ST but will pay like $50 or less for red zone.
I want CLTV / CLTV HD on direct tv.

Just once I would like the offer of ST and free Premiere. I've been a loyal customer for 13 years and have only had a handful of direct marketing calls. Now emails about signing my friends up is another story.

I don't think it works that way. If you have an account with anyone, you can't get them put on the "no call" list.

Now, if you had an OOMA instead of the landline, not only would you save a lot of money, you can "Blacklist" anyone.

Rich

I believe they still have to remove you if you request it from anything other than "business" calls relating to bills etc.

DirecTV has their own "do not call list" and they are very good about adhering to it. Just tell them no more sales calls and t hey will stop immediately. You can even "opt out" online. I oped out of everything and never even got my anniversary emails. I had to go in and OPT IN for anniversary gifts. I wondered why I never got any for 7+ years. :sure: Year 8 is due next month. Hopefully I'll get my 1 PPV or 3 months of the game channel.

It amazes me that anyone actually speaks to anyone who actually called you to try to sell you something.
First of all, get it out of your head that you owe anyone who calls you on a phone a second of your time. In fact, you don't even owe them any courtesy at all. None. I am on the no call list. Sometimes, calls come through anyway.
I look at caller ID. If it's not someone I know, it's not likely I'm even going to answer it. If it's important, that's what the answering machine is for. If for some reason I do answer, they get a few words out that make it obvious they are sellling something before I say "take me off your call list" or "I'm not interested", then I hang up. Don't wait for a gap in the conversation, don't worry about being rude and interupting, just do it.
Do not complain about calls like this and say "I told her 4 times I didn't want it". That's your fault for staying on the phone that long with these parasites.
I've tried to tell this to my mother. I've heard her talk to someone for 5 minutes, telling them why she doesn't want this or that or why she can't afford it, blah blah blah. Then she rants and raves about how irritating it is that they call. "Well, why didn't you hang up?" "They wouldn't let me. They wouldn't stop talking, it would be rude to just hang up while they are still talking." OMG! :nono2:
Do not talk to these parasites. They do not deserve respect or common courtesy.

Some place keeps calling me for a donation. Since they are non-profit, they don't have to listen to the national DNC list I have been told. Anyway, it goes like this: "Is the lady of the house in?" "There is no lady of the house." "Oh, well, that's ok! Let me tell you " "Is this the xxx company again?" "Yes, we are calling for " "I keep telling you I am not making a donation." "Well, you see " "I asked you last time to please stop calling." "Well we see that last time we " *click*

They are preying on women probably being more compassionate about needy people and giving them any/more money.

Wow... so I've only been a customer for 10 days and they're already trying to pitch me the NFL ST/Premier deal. I had to tell her "no thanks" 4 times before she finally gave up.

For you long timers... how often will they keep harassing me about upgrading my package?

No sales calls in 3 1/2 years from DirecTV.

CallerID or the answering machine usually take care of unwanted sales calls. If I do pick up on an unfamiliar number the call duration is very brief -- I'm on the do not call list, don't call me again -- Hang up!

I use Voipo (voip service) and they have a great call "routing" feature. You can route calls to operator intercepts (We're sorry, this number has been disconnected), to voice mail, to another number (I route some repeat pests to porn lines or sometimes the local PD in their area). They have blacklists, white lists as well as routing by wildcards like 000******* for all these weird caller-id's you get from area code 000 or by exchange and one number like 908-555-0***. I have eliminated 99% of the pest calls who slip through the DNC list and who are not possible to trace back because many times they call from off-shore and use fake CIDs. They also have call-recording where you dial a prefix and the number and the call is recorded then the recording is emailed to you which saved my $700 once on a call to Blue Cross.

FOr me it's like a cat and mouse game trying to catch the spam calls and send them on their way. When I do decide to answer I just string them along and have fun with them till t hey usually hang up on me.

In 11 years, I can't ever remember getting a sales call from DirecTV. I did get one from DISH once wanting me to switch, but after I told them I was going to file a complain because I was on the "do not call" list I never heard from them again.

As for answering the phone, we screen all calls and if the caller ID is blocked or we don't recognize the number we don't answer it. Especially important during election season since the politicians exempted themselves from being on the "do not call" list.

The service rep told me I would be getting these channels FREE but they have yet to show up?

Can I refresh the channels online and perhaps they will appear in the guide?
