I have 2 HR24-200's and have noticed that while watching programming that the audio will 'skip' every now and then. This mainly occurs on movies (live and recorded) as I've noticed so far.

Is this a known issue that I've just missed seeing on here?

How do you have the audio hooked up? RCA (red/white), optical/coaxial digital or HDMI?

If it's the regular audio dropouts it's only been a year. They need a little time to figure it out...... lol

Brief and several times a show for just about every show and happens on all my boxes. Very frustrating. Seems to happen more on recorded shows though.
Cheers,

Audio is connected via Toslink Optical. It does it on HDMI as well. Thanks for the info. Wouldn't think something this major would take so long to fix.

Posted Image And since everybody doesn't have the problem and a year has gone by since it started, it looks as though they would rather lose the people with the problem than spend the money to fix it.

There have been several long threads about this issue, what it is, and why it is so hard to fix. There are some undesirable (to me), work-arounds that can minimize the problem, but none seem to cure it. I just had one that lasted about two seconds on 209, The Best of Mike and Mike , watching live. How's that for timing!:) This was on an HR21-100.

Once you have a better feel for what the problem actually is, you will better understand why it isn't being fixed in a jiffy.:)

My HR24-500 actually switches from Digital to Analog and then later back to Digital and then back to Analog and if I didn't have an Analog Cable hooked up then I would get those Dreaded Audio Dropouts.

My HR24-200 does this, my H24-100 does not. I notice that it seems to occur fairly regularly a short time after doing a fast forward. In other words, almost every time I finish a fast forward, about the same amount of time later, the audio dropout occurs once.

Yes, this Audio Skip Or Dropout is a Known Problem that Directv has been supposedly working on for some time now as in months and months.

Not in a "jiffy"? How about not in a month, not in 3 months, not in 6 months, and not in a year! Maybe in 2 years?

The HR24 hasn't been out for a year yet.

My HR24-500 doesn't have any audio issues with satellite programming but does with Media Share.
