I just had my HR24 replaced with a new HR24, hard drive failed. On the old box when I pressed Play to stop FF, the unit did a short skip backwards which made skipping commercials really easy. The new box does not do this so there is always a small amount of program missed due to my reaction time. Is there a setting to turn this feature on? I really liked this feature and find it hard to believe they would have removed it in mid-production.

It should skip back on everything except 1XFF.....if you arent seeing the same reaction from your new unit that you were on your old unit, one didnt probably have the most up to date software on it.
