What is the 'Dish Panel'

While flipping through the DISH interactive menu system (the channel with the 6 TV frame feeds), it shows an option for something called 'Dish Panel'. When you click on it it says to enter your TV code.

What is this feature???

Found it at DishHome-1-6. Pressing Info only reveals this is version A100.
Interesting that the on-screen keyboard seems to be set up for hexadecimal as it doesn't include G-Z. I entered 123456 and then was instructed to go to another TV and enter an ID for it (this for a 622 in Single mode). The entered ID is not retained and must be re-entered on future visits to the app.

Wonder if this could be for the Wi-Fi TV they showed at CES? Maybe not given that it asks for multiple IDs.
