Gkamer, Try going to the D* website and seeing what comes up if you order online. Depending on your circumstance (contract length, monthly credits etc) it might be cheaper. It often changes without notice. You could be pleasantly surprised. Mine bounces back and forth between $99 and free. I am out of contract and receive no monthly credits which does makes a difference.

FWIW, if you don't already have the right equipment/setup (SWM, etc) you can't do an online order to upgrade to the whole-home DVR service, you have to call. For example, I have a legacy multiswitch, an HR20 and 2 DirecTIVOs, and I cannot do the upgrade order online.

I have not had a new box since over 3 years ago, and if I just do an online equipment upgrade, they want $398 plus shipping for two self installation HD DVR orders. No discount. I think I will call. :^)

We not only got the 24 month free HD but also another 10 dollar a month credit for the first year of that 2 year deal.
Yes, I have a television that I watch from time to time.
