Really....stupid me

Just thought I'd share this one because I am a boob.

When I upgraded to SWiM a couple of months ago, the installer put the PI in my daughter's room. Today we decided she had outgrown her room and moved her into the spare bedroom that was bigger. There wasnt a Directv run in that room but it was wired for cable tv with quadshield so I tapped into that and ran a line from the splitter. Before I connected the PI I realized that the only power outlet was attached to a light switch. Rather than deal with the possibility that she could accidentally turn the switch off and bring down the TV I decided to move the PI downstairs. I get everything connected and as far as I know nothing has changed except for the location of the PI and I get the dreaded 771.

After checking all of the connections inside I go out to where there splitter is, bust out the old arm extenders and lo and behold I see "DC IN" on the splitter.

I switch around the lines on the splitter and voila! Everything back to normal.

Now......who forgot to tell me about DC IN on the splitter?!:blush:

Who was your instructor for Directv installation? Guess they were at fault for not completing your instructions.
