Please remember, in no way am I giving up my D* sub. I had the Cablevision HD DVR put in today and it was a pretty poor performance equipment-wise. The guy that came out had a bunch of banged up DVRs in the back of his truck and that was all he had. First one wouldn't boot up properly, second one wouldn't record, a dialog box came up and said there was a problem with the HDD. The third one worked. Big ugly DVR! I hope this gets settled tonight so I can return this thing tomorrow.

Anyone who has problems with our GUI should check out CV's. Terrible. 4:3. Haven't watched anything on it yet. Only plan to use it for the Yankees' games.

Rich

I didnt go that route!!I went to a Time Warner Center here in Manhattan and got a brand new HD (NON DVR) Samsung box..NEW In the Box and selefane wrap in it..I'd never take anything from the tech's truck!!...Does Cablevision have Store outlets like that??? I'd trade that sucker in if it looks beat up, check & see if they do if your not happy with what you got......you could trade up and get a brand spanking new stuff instead of something slipping & sliding and wedged inside the techs truck..We may be in the long run for this dispute..I'd rather be happy with what i got than seeing a shoe print :)

attached is a pic from Engadget.com and this is the NON DVR HD box Time Warner gives out in Manhattan..

If DIRECTV's facebook page is to be believed, they're done bickering:

Big news: We just reached an agreement with YES Network to continue carrying the Yankees games!

I just knew they would get it done. They love to point out that they have YES and Dish does not.

Good! I didn't want to suffer through NESN's announcers tomorrow.
If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

As bad as Remy can be, Orsilla is pretty good, miles ahead of Kay. I do like Singleton and Flaherty.

"It was unclear at press time how much DirecTV will be paying YES in terms of a monthly subscriber license fee. DirecTV had said earlier that it should pay the same amount as the other three top YES distributors in the New York market, Cablevision, Time Warner Cable and Comcast. SNL Kagan pegs the RSN's license fee at somewhere between $2.60-$2.82 per subscriber per month. Neither party offered a comment about price by press time."

I wonder if future rates are based on what YES will get with deals from Cablevision, Comcast and Time Warner. Does anyone know which of the three companies has a contract that expires first?
