Program guide says that 729 and 729-1 should be the Padres feed for the game against the Cardinals, but it's not showing up...what gives?

Scared me there for a second. Didn't want to get home and be greeted by a black screen. In the past, the 4SD HD feed usually comes on almost right at first pitch.

But for those of us in San Diego it's still a no-go.

This has been rumored since at least last year. That would be good news for Padres fans in and out of San Diego.

Love the way the Cox guy for the CHANNEL was basically threatening that a Fox channel may not be carried on Cox. Yeah, that would be a smart move. Ha!

Of course, Cox could agree to give the channel to other providers and still win, but they, like Comcast, are too short sighted to see how that would work for them. I hope they lose the contract just for this.

Cox should have been listening to the fans long ago. They should have been fair with their distribution to begin with. Funny how the tables will turn and Cox will be negotiating to get the Pads on their system. I wonder if they really are short-sighted enough to think they have any leverage at all.

They are at least posturing that way from the quote in the article.

Same thing as Coincast when Brian Roberts whines about Sunday Ticket and how they would give up CSN Philly and CSN Northwest if D* would give up the exclusivity on Sunday Ticket, while completely ignoring the fact that the NFL is the one that makes the package exclusive, and Coincast is too cheap to pay the NFL's high price.

And here is a related article to what I posted earlier: http://www.nctimes.c...136e7d1df2.html

If the rumors are true, San Diego would also have its own regional FSN!:)

If that was true, wouldn't Dish have CSN Philly and Northwest?

Don't try to point out comcast's illogic. It is wrong on so many levels.

It looks more and more like the tables will definitely turn! Here is an update on the possible new Padres TV deal: http://www.nctimes.c...9a07f83b50.html

Name the channels.

CSN / CSS Houston

Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast

CSNNW

CSN phlly

CSN phlly + / comcast network

Longhorn network

PAC 12 network

FSN San Diego

Time Warner LA RSN

Time Warner LA RSN Spanish

Cox Sports Television

part and sub FSN feeds that move to full time HD

The Mountain when it goes full time HD

Universal Sports HD / VS 2 HD (may happen or may not) or VS alt may see more use. Or other comcast / NBC channels may end up like tech tv and g4 be come one and that may free up a slot. As comcast wants VS to become more a mainstream sports channel. And they can take stuff from syfy, g4, VS to make a extreme sports channel or maybe even have the old OLN name comeback. Also I don't they really want to put stuff only on the SD sub channel Universal Sports.

maybes
E! HD, Style HD, g4 HD, chiller HD (if it goes HD) for the 2011-2012 NHL payoffs and / or olympics.

Maybe a few of them will be taken from the HD PPV slots.

Subscribed to DirecTV for NFL Sunday Ticket, remained a subscriber for international football.

As the prices increase...Looks like SD will be getting $25 million per season from FSN. Wonder where that money will come from?

Well, as Cox kept SD4 for themselves, and FSN will be selling to everyone, the advertiser rates and the income from customers goes way up without adding a single penny per customer. Given that there was no real money charged from Cox to Cox, it is hard to say that there will be a price increase, since the value was never established.
