Looks good, I would have tried for another HD receiver though.

I'm sure Directv can't wait to get their hands on your unit.

Agreed. Best to get it while you can IF you can. Eventually you'll want another HD :D

Absolutely!! Since you're getting Whole Home an HDDVR in place of the SD box will pay off quickly.

Welcome aboard.

I agree, I can't believe they're still giving out SD receivers. So much for an all MPEG4 system one day.

Does seem rather stupid, when an HD box will do SD, and the manufacturing cost of the H25 can't be that much higher, if not lower, than their SD receivers.

And I'm surprised they're installing an SD receiver on a SWiM install.

But if you could have got one for free, the picture would be better and you'd be ready for any future endeavor.

The D12 is SWM compatible so there's nothing truly surprising about it.

what up guys? well i had my system installed on the 7th and it was one of the most funniest things i've seen in awhile. the techs came out at 11am all was good.they went ahead with mounting the dish & placed the receivers in their place.(they gave me a hr21,h24 & a d12).mistake #1.they wanted to run my signal through the existing cable line
(i have cable internet) which is cool but what about my internet!!!!! about 2 hours later the were stumped on how i wasn't getting a signal on any of the satellites.one tech said maybe we can get a waiver (its' a very sunny day).with all the info on this forum i knew what would work for my setup so i just sat back & watched the show.mistake # 2.one tech said i was getting the newest technology ( i could have told him a thing or two but the receivers were free so i said ok.)so they called another tech who came out & the first thing he said was "that's not going to work".so for me to have my internet they had to map out the crossed up cable lines to get everything working.the second tech also peaked the dish & supplied additional parts for the install. the second tech was here 2 hours fixing everything they thought they had right.i don't know how long it would have took if it wasn't for the second tech.all in all everything is great.i'm so glad i made the switch. i also looked in the truck (subcontractor) to see if they had any more receivers & there were none.total time 4 hours/or 2 if done right the first time.thanks for all the info.

It's really a shame just how many companies put improperly train workers on jobs just to save on training cost and I give no credit to these workers for their failure to learn on their own. Too many of 'em are happy to remain job dumb as if that is some kind of benefit.
