i just wanna bump from choice extra with dvr 82.99 total down to the choice package 5 bucks cheaper

does this have something to do with the 10 buck HD autopay credit?

or if anyone has a cheaper package idea for me..but the family one has too few channels so not interested in that

No, it just has to do with their website. You can UPGRADE on the website, but to downgrade, you need to call, wait on hold, then get bugged to subscribe to Showtime :) Select is a good package ($44.99), but then they dip you for the HD charge, so if you have free HD, choice is the lowest you can go. Either way, Select + HD, or Choice + Free HD is close in price.

Not sure how accurate this list is either. I have the Select Package but am not receiving ABC Family ch 311. By the way, that's the only one I checked.

There are two select packages. Do you have the $39.95 one or the $44.99 one? They are different. Dont have the list for the cheaper one, as its an older package.

Seriously? It's fairly obvious DirecTV doesn't want to publicize the availability of these lower-cost packages because it means they make less money and lower the all-important ARPU.

As far as I know, the "Select" package is only available in certain markets, I could be wrong on this but heres why I think that.. I am a Retailer and have sales guys in 8 different states, one sales guy in Southern Illinois has the select package option when I build his orders, and also a guy in Augusta Georgia DMA.. All the other reps have choice, choice extra etc options... According to my Area Sales Manager they are only offering these packages in about 10 markets, again, I could be wrong but thats how I see it

I have never heard of Select or any package being limited to certain markets.

Yep, I have the older "Select Classic" package. Never noticed the "Classic" part.

Does anyone know where I can find a channel comparison chart for the various packages? I currently have Choice Xtra for $65.99. I can see what I would lose by dropping to Choice for $60.99 but I'm not exactly sure what I would lose by dropping even further. I'm interested in the packages below Choice and their current prices.

Thanks.:D

It's not very difficult, just add the numbers up (ones in parenthesis are negative) and you've got your total.
