I'd rather not have an MDU DirecTV setup here.

How are the tenants getting television?

I figure whatever deal the landlord got would have him limited to just one feed - either cable, sat or FiOS.

Most have Comcrap cable. Those who have DBS have Dish Network because of the landlord's exclusive agreement to permit only Dish Network. All feeds come through the same RG59 cabling.

BTW, FIOS isn't available because Illinois lawmakers won't allow it in the state.

FAITH: I find the lack of it disturbing.

Opinions are my own but should be those of all Americans, who would be much better off intellectually, psychologically, and emotionally if that were the case.

Hmmm, maybe because the mayor's brother Bill Daley was the AT&T mouthpiece.

Nothing yet. I didn't go to last Sunday's bonfire because I was busy, but I hope to go to this Sunday's and stir the pot again. :D

I wonder if anyone that you gave the referral to has contacted DirecTV yet to sign up for service. There might be fireworks soon. After all, it's almost the Fourth of July.

If it's QAM distribution, then RG59 is OK. You shouldn't worry. ;)

Well, it was a BEAUTIFUL evening weather wise. So nice out! Lots of new faces at the bonfire, and the subject of installing satellite dishes came up. :D

Of course, I had to educate people on my situation, which resulted in more than one person saying they were going to get DirecTV. Naturally I had to help them by giving them one of my Refer-a-Friend coupons.

If he gets enough referrals, he might get enough credits to get free service and maybe a job offer in the sales area. :D

Considering the education job market is among the nation's worst, it might not be a bad idea for me to go BACK to sales, which is what I left to become a teacher, only to be let go one year shy of tenure. :(

People gripe about politicians, but school boards seem to be the worst. A friend of mine's wife was a sub for the local school board. It takes IIRC 120 days of work for it to count as a "year" of service and to qualify for benefits. For three straight years, she was within 5 days of getting a year of service and she stopped getting called. This was done on purpose.

She finally lucked into what turned out to be a long-term sub gig that got her over the 120 day threshold. She got another long-term sub gig the next year and that gave her enough seniority to get a full-time position.
