Didnt NBC use to own Sportschannel Of America

I see that Comcast Sports Net is gonna become NBC sports net. Didn't NBC own sportschannel of America in the 90s or am I mistaken.

I'm pretty sure Sportschannel America was owned by Cablevision. I dont think NBC had anything to do with it.

SportsChannel America belonged to Cablevision. Late in its life it merged into a joint venture between Cablevision, NBC, and Liberty Media which also owned NewSport (similar to ESPNews) and ASC (similar to ESPN Classic) which proceded the ESPN versions by a half-decade, but which could not get on cable systems and died out. NBC never actually owned any part of SC-A.
