The package just got a little better...NBC Bay Area feed is on tonight, as is the A's RSN feed. Very cool...:glasses:

if they can have this in HD why is WGN HD / wgn america HD not mapped to the MLB EI channels? and if they add WGN 9 HD to the out of market sports packs then they can also use for NBA LP and NHL CI.

also will they ever add WCIU HD to MLB EI HD and NBA LP HD.
I want CLTV / CLTV HD on direct tv.

That was definitely a nice surprise on Friday night! I was afraid it might have been a special one-time effort from D* since the Giants were playing the A's, but KNTV is back in the guide for Wednesday night's Marlins/Giants game on EI channels 748/748-1. Let's hope we continue to get these OTA feeds!

They *can* map them anyway they want. They *chose* to not map WGNA to EI for whatever reason. As to having the SF OTA feed on EI for the nation...well, where else were they going to put it? WGNA is available to all on a predisposed channel, just like ESPN, ESPN2, TBS, TNT, etc. SF OTA is not.

Talking about useing WGN 9 not WGNA has WGN9 also has Bulls games that do not air of WGNA and the WGN Blackhawks games.

Well. that would mean that DirecTV does not have a contract to put local OTA Cubs games on EI. That is why they are not remapped. Just like any other local OTA games, they need a contract.

Personally I think the WGN American situation is to require MLB subs to carry Choice Extra if they want Cubs feeds. If you sub to just Family/Select/Choice and MLB you wouldn't get WGN. Just my theory.

Well tonight they were suppose to have the OTA Giants feed on 744 tonight. It was not on so I called, apparently others have as well, as the guy put me on hold and went to a TV to see if it was on. They had me do all this stuff and then finally came back to me and said it was a mistake and only the San Diego feed is on tonight. :(
