Hopefully Padres on Directv will bring more customers over to Directv and these new customers put pressure on Directv to add more local channels in HD like KUSI.

Ok, turned on Fox Sports West and the Angels game is on. Then flipped it tot PT and the Dodgers game is on. But I can't watch a historical mlb show on one of these networks?

If you aren't in those teams territories that's typically how MLB programming "works". Last year for a while MLB started blacking out out-of-market pre-game and post-game shows.

MLB blacks out these programs, in addition to most of Fox Saturday baseball, because they don't want their fans to watch their programming. They'd rather you watch something else or not watch TV at all. It's part of a new, secret, strategy to get more MLB fans and to get you, the fan, to give them more money. It makes perfect sense if your last name is Selig.

Actually programming starts at 5:30 pm PT with a "Padres Special" season preview, followed by the pre-game show at 6:30 pm PT.

It's 8:30PM EDT and I'm getting a Not Subscribed (721) message for 694-1.

Odd, as I'm Premier, which includes Sports Pack.

The Pre-game special is up and running here in the San Diego home market. Looks good... I have Premier and Sports Pack - but that shouldn't matter

The D* Brainiacs are telling me FSSD is a "local RSN only, not for viewers outside San Diego, no matter the package you subscribe to".

Um, OK...

According to Dick Enberg they are going to have an hour pregame and an hour postgame for all Padres games. And it looks like they will have some other Padres shows the rest of the week. Looks like it's going to be very good for Padres fans.

If it is game only, that sort of makes sense. You need MLB EI to get the games anyway. The pregame should be on, though (we did have this problem last year with Fox Sports RSNs, didn't we?).

But the message should say "blacked out" rather than not authorized.

It's on in Las Vegas. One of the benefits of every team in California claiming us as a local market.

They don't black out spring training games for Sports Pack/Premiere subscribers, and MLB EI is only for regular season.

I haven't seen an out of market ST game not on 213. I am Premiere.

I noticed tonight that Cox has a prominent advertisement presence on the game tonight. Pretty amusing, in a way.

Hopefully this fridays Padres spring training game will not be blacked out like this past Saturday's was outside of the San Diego viewing area. I still say it was a error on Directv's part and not the customers.

When will the directv website be updated? The channel is not in the list.

Also when will the RSN lookup tool be updated? It is still showing Prime Ticket as channel 694. There is no information for Fox Sports San Diego. I don't know if the Las Vegas area will require premier or sports pack to get the channel.

And another good question is when will FS San Diego become a full-time channel? Cox already has it 24/7. I missed the Padres season preview show last Saturday, and I know it is being re-aired throughout this week.

Isn't Vegas dodgers territory? If so, you will never get it in the sports pack, only if you get extra innings. Unless they both claim that dma???

How knows when the look up tool will be updated, but I am sure that's the last thing they worry about.

As for when will it go full time, I'd say not till after the next sat launches at the earliest, if I use just logic. There is no reason to have it in hd full time. All other games are duplicated on another channel that is available to all the same subs that would be allowed to get those games in hd full time already.
