If that does not work, there is a Showtime deal where you get a $25 mail in rebate after 3 months of service. Check the bottom of this Directv page for the
info/links.

Just called and got 12 months free the first CSR I talked to. He asked where I saw this offer and I told him I saw it online. He said ok, and told me he just activated it and to have a nice day.

Banner is still there, and still makes no mention of being for new customers only. Apparently they didn't learn from last time. :nono2:

Interesting. Some see a banner, others don't. Some get the deal, others don't.

I didn't see the banner either on Directv's site because I was logged in. Log off of their site then you will see it along with other offers for new customers.

For those that got it, did you call the order number, or Customer Service? I was planning on calling Customer service this week to see if I could get any deal on HBO, might ask about this at the same time.

I just called in and they said I wasn't eligible for a year free but I could get 3 months free. I took it and she said it auto cancels after 3 months, but I will still keep an eye on it.

I wish I knew D*'s criteria on who gets these offers like this one. I was told by two different CRSs on consecutive days that I wasn't eligible and the offer was only for new subs. I've been with D* since 1998 (Primestar) and have NEVER missed a payment. I guess I need to stop making payments and threatening to cancel every time one of these offers surface in order to get one.
(Full disclosure) I did get Showtime for six months for $8 and a $10 per month credit, so it isn't all bad.

After one transfer, free for 6 months. Was really hoping for free HBO for 3 months or so, but no deal there.

Just called up. The CSR said I wasn't eligible for the free Showtime promotion, but said that he would give me a different deal for $10/month off my bill for the next 12 months. That works for me:)
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

I already had HBO, Showtime, and Starz. So since he gave me that I went ahead and picked up Cinemax too.

I saw the free SHOTIME for a year ad on the main page today after not seeing it for a few days. I called in and the CSR came back and told me I could not get a year of free SHO. He instead offered $5 off SHO for 6 months, or half price STARZ ($6.50/month) for a year, so I took the STARZ deal.
I then asked about other deals and he came back with $20 off for 12 months. I also asked him to confirm that the free HD for 24 months discount was still in effect since I've noticed in other threads that some have had that credit drop off after 12 months, and I signed up for it last June. I'll still keep an eye on that, as my billing date is the 27th.
