Did a search here on this and didn't find what i was looking for, so ... new thread.

Back in August, I ordered Hall Pass on the D* website because I wanted to be able to watch the film on any of my boxes. The site immediately hit my card on file for $5.99 (no sales tax). The purchase bypassed the pending activity on my account.

Last night, I ordered Win-Win via the Android app on my phone. The charge did not immediately go to my card but rather shows as a pending charge on my D* account in recent activity... but this time it includes sales tax ($5.99 + tax).

What's the difference? Can anyone shed light here?

No idea. I get charged sales tax on everything on Directv. I order PPV fights all the time and the added sales tax is a huge hit. A $65 PPV now becomes a $70 PPV.
