There is a message on channel 248-1 that directs you to OurPromiseToYou.com regarding negotiations with Fox / Newscorp. There are several channels affected, FX, Fox Movie Channel, National Geographic, and some others.

The channels involved are
FX
National Geographic Channel
Speed Channel
Fox Soccer Channel
Fox Movie Channel
Fox Deportes
FuelTV

Some of you may also lose the 13 Fox Sports regional networks that televise some college football and NHL hockey into your home communities.

Your local FOX broadcast station and Fox News Channel are not involved.

Great. :(

I'm surprised Fox News isn't included. I figured that'd be their bargaining chip.
If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

I bet FNC's carriage deal is with the O&O station's deal. Hopefully that contract is not up for renewal for a few years. Can't say I am upset about losing the potential channels while an agreement is worked on, but never like to see channels pulled over carriage disputes. Seems to be more common nowadays, regardless of the MSO.

Personally, if I had to give up watching the World Series on Fox for DirecTv to take a stand against this ongoing corporate greed, Id turn it off now.

I say drop the Fox, add DIY, and some of the other channels we dont have, and let Murdock take the hit, and see how long he likes doing without those 19 million subs.

This will get resolved just like it always does. Neither party here wants a service interruption.

Sometimes you shave to draw a line in the sand. I think that our friends at DIRECTV are right to negotiate hard. If they pay more to the content providers, you'll pay more to DIRECTV.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, DISH, The Signal Group, or any other company.

FX
National Geographic Channel
Speed Channel

I watch these channels a bunch.
FX has some hilarious shows (The League, Wilfred, etc)
Nat Geo is amazing.
Speed broadcasts NASCAR and F1. I never miss a single practice, qualifying or race. I would really upset if there is a disruption.

I really hope this gets resolved on time. It will, right? Neither side really wants these channels to go down do they?

I found this article kind of interesting considering the situation going on between both parties.

http://www.hollywood...networks-251568

"They have given us no chance to respond before taking an unnecessarily aggressive posture and going public," Fox said.

DirecTV has told Fox Networks that it will drop the channels Nov. 1 if the two companies don't come to an agreement in the ongoing carriage dispute.

Fox said late Thursday that it has offered an extend during the ongoing negotiations but that DirecTV "has informed us and their customers that unless we agree to their demands, they 'will suspend our networks on Nov. 1.'"

Fox added that DirecTV sent a proposal out Tuesday.

"They have given us no chance to respond before taking an unnecessarily aggressive posture and going public," Fox Networks said in a statement. "It is disappointing that they have chosen bad faith tactics over meaningful negotiation.

"We have proposed to keep the Fox Networks on DirecTV for the same price, and on the same terms as they are currently carried while we attempt to work out a fair agreement. Unfortunately, DirecTV has decided that unless they get their way, they are going to pull the plug on their customers Nov. 1."

Best defense is a good offense. DirecTv must have taken this out of Fox's playbook.
