It's not confirmation, but there is some support at a NY Times blog: http://mediadecoder....-and-news-corp/

Actually, the link in your post was updated and there is an agreement.

DirecTV and News Corp. Avert Channel Blackout

By BRIAN STELTER

6:15 p.m. | Updated | Representatives for DirecTV and News Corporation said Monday evening that they had averted a looming blackout of regional sports networks, FX and other Fox-owned cable channels.

After warring in public for a week and a half, the two companies said they had come to a new contract agreement. “We both know the past ten days have been challenging, but we’re pleased that both sides could eventually come together to ensure our viewers continue to enjoy Fox programming,” the companies said in a joint statement.

Yeah! Just got the email about it, and looks like they also got agreements on the locals and fox news, so everyone should be happy. I just wonder if maybe they will add some additional services too, like on demand for fox, etc...

Thank you, DirecTV! As a hockey fan, this would have been really painful for me, and I appreciate not having to deal with it!

Question for Sat Racer I am curious to know will this include online viewing of Fox shows through the authenticated service like Dish has right now?

Oh, it looks like they did 'em all, including the ones that still had a month or two to run, so no replay of the brinksmanship after a slight pause for refreshments. Even better.

Now, did they get Nat Geo WILD in HD? :)
