My current HD equipment is in my signature. I would like to add an H24 or H25 (whichever they send) to replace the D12 I am currently using. Currently my H23 is connected using the white DECA. Is it correct that the H24/25 have the DECA installed internally and all I would need to do is just install the H24/25 in place of the D12?

On occasion I use the H23 in place of the D12 by just moving it and my MRV works fine. I just want to be 100% sure that this can be done and that I won't need an installer.

Thanks.

Are you getting it free? I'd probably pay the $100 myself and know what I get.

I ordered through the D* website. Ordering over the phone would have cost me an extra $20 for shipping. If they don't send an H24 or H25 or send me some refurbished piece I'll just send it back since I am in no rush.

What I meant was, if you were paying the normal price, I'd probably go with a reseller. You'd get a new box and could choose between a 24 or 25 and know that's what you'd get. You would pay shipping generally though.

I think I'll get an H24 or H25 through D*. If not I'll go with the the one from ABT.

Thanks for the tip.:)

So of course they send me a bricked (won't even power up) H23 without the DECA.

I ended up ordering the H25 from ABT. Ended up $115.94 inc tax. D* is refunding my money and sending a recovery kit for the bricked H23.

And D* won't refund my money until they get the bricked receiver back.

Normally my interactions with D* are positive but they kind of messed up on this one IMO.

Oh well. There are worse things in life than waiting a few days for a refund.

And my shiny new H25 will be here in a few days. :)

D* sent me a second H23 (again without DECA) for some reason. Then I received the recovery kit this afternoon to return the 1st H23 they sent. So I had to call and request a 2nd recovery kit which confused the hell out of the rep since they had no idea I was sent a 2nd H23. WTF is going on over there? Normally I have no issues with D* but they seem to have their heads up their asses.

Lesson learned as far as ordering equipment from them. Never again.

H25 is installed and activated. I knew the H25's were small but I had no idea they were that tiny.

I just called D* regarding my refund for the H23 and they told me 65 days. WTF?

I guess they are REALLY trying to make sure that I never ever order equipment from them again. An independent retailer is by far the best way to go.

So out of the blue today, I received a 3rd recovery kit from D*. What on earth is going on here? I have a feeling that this whole thing is going to result in me composing an email to Elaine Filipiak.

Well, hey, you're ahead of the people who never get a recovery kit, I guess.

I think what is happening is that whenever I call something triggers something in the system that automatically sends out a recovery kit. I am going to call again tomorrow to ask why they keep sending them and see if I get another one.
