We just came back to DirecTV and are having problems with programming the remote to work with our relatively new RCA Television.

It's an LED24A45 and the remote is an RC64. The documentation for the TV includes a code for DirecTV (10178) but only works with the separate ON/Off button on the side, not with the PWR button and doesn't support changing the input. The DirecTV suggested code of 10135 doesn't work at all.

Does anyone have another code that won't require switching between button types? The primary users of this particular TV are seniors and really need maximum simplicity.

Thanks.

RCAs are hit and miss. :(

Give these a try.
10047
11781
11958
12187

Those are listed for RCA LCDs. Good Luck.

athenas the seperate on/off on the side are the way you WANT them to work. If you hit off it should turn the tv and receiver off. If you hit on it should turn them both on. using to power button is usually what confuses people.
also to do the input once you haver tv prtogrammed you hit mut and select and whern it blinks twice hit 960 then input. see if that works

Try codes 10056 or 11758.

Thank you! 10056 seems to be the magic code for this one.

Yep, that what was missing.

Thank you very much.

If you hit off it should turn the tv and receiver off. If you hit on it should turn them both on.

I don't think I'll ever understand these buttons. We have a television that can only be powered on/off by moving the switch to TV then pressing the PWR button. The ON/Off buttons have zero effect on that TV. Now we have this one that does seem to work better with those buttons. I guess it doesn't matter as long as we know what to do for each TV.

also programming input is additional, slide button to tv, mute & select until green light blinks above tv 2x, then put in 960, slide button back to dtv, then try input, if it doesnt work on first try, try it again

yes, every tv seems to have its own mind, as to how it works with dtv remote, some work with on/off, some you have to slide button to tv, hit pwr below slide bar, too many brands and models of tvs
