I am fairly confident we will see NASCAR Hotpass return in 2012 probably with the exact same features we had in 2011.

Obviously I'm looking forward to 2012 following a thrilling 2011 Chase. Also looking forward to seeing Danica run full time in the NNS series.

Speed will be broadcasting Daytona testing (live) from 1pm to 5pm EST January 12th thru 14th.

Obviously nothing exciting but it's always cool to see cars on track and get the very latest info.

So Aric Almirola has been officially signed to drive the 43. This will open up the 88 NNS ride. Jr will have lots of options. Ragan, Vickers, Sorenson, Speed...Cole Whitt seems to be the favorite but he's signed to Red Bull which may conflict with Jr's affiliation with PepsiCo. (AMP)

Looks like Cole Whitt will be driving the 88 in the NNS.

Rusty Wallace has closed up shop. Shocking.

I bet Penske is bummed that they signed AJ Allmendinger. If they'd waited they could have snagged Steven Wallace.

Wow, I am shocked that RWR packed it in!!

AJ is a far better driver than Steven Wallace. Well, at least he is a lot smarter. Steven is too green. No way Penske would have hired him.

That boy does not belong in a race car. Have you seen interviews with him? Not to discriminate or anything but he has some sort of tick that makes him close his eyes every few seconds. That, to me, would be a medical condition that should keep him off the track.

I understand he has Turrets Syndrome (not sure on the spelling). Supposed to be on meds for it, however he still wrecks a lot.

The thing with Steven is that he's fast but he tries to drive the car beyond it's limits. He's gotten better but he needs better stuff. But you don't get better stuff when you wreck what you have. Owners don't like that.

I would think that should keep him out of a car for everyone's safety. Shutting your eyes like that is not good when driving at nearly 200mph.

I don't think Nascar would let Steven race if he was a safety concern.

He can go fast but is too aggressive in my opinion.

Sorry, but things like this irk me...

it's "Tourette's syndrome".

Will we have the option to choose between network audio and uncensored driver audio? And will that audio feed be interrupted by commercials?

Uncensored? LOL

We only had uncensored the first year of Hotpass and even then only for a few races. Asking for hotpass to be uncensored is like asking a car to be a boat.

I don't think we'll be getting any type of audio options. They seemed to have settled in with what we've had for the past couple of seasons. The only uncensored audio I've found is when I am sitting at the track listening to my scanner. I do, however, subscribe to Trackpass Scanner from NASCAR.com. It's somewhat censored but a lot gets through. I feel it's a good deal overall for me because I am a ridiculously addicted to racing.:)

Hi all, just to let everyone know, Hotpass WILL be back for the 2012 season. Also, Directv does not censor any of the driver audio channels. That is done from site and the host network. FOX/TNT/ESPN/ABC. 98% of the chatter "Gets past the goalie". But if a driver blows a fuse they do hit the dump button. Also, Directv does not control the in-car cameras or the commercial schedule. "Heard" this from a "reliable" source. Hope this info helps. Should be an awesome season!

We were told a couple years ago by a very reliable source that they in fact do. We were told they were asked to do so by NASCAR.
