I read a post by someone that his HR 23 changed channels in two seconds mine takes 5 t0 7 seconds. Is this normal for this receiver. I have tried every thing suggested to speed it up and nothing helps.

Two to five seconds might not be that uncommon, but longer would bother me.
When you say you've tried "everything suggested", what does this mean?
Another question is if this might be a HDMI problem.
Does it take just as long if you're using [analog] component to your TV?

If you are using 'native on', that can and does affect channel change speed.

I have used native on and native off, with no change.

Try adding channels to the Quick Tune. That seems to help with my HR 23.
