I would rather my TV provider worry about giving me access to TV stations not music. I find it hard to believe that they would lose many customers over dropping them either.
If DirecTV dropped the music channels they would lose me as a customer as soon as I could get a competitor that DID offer music channels installed. And I give them over $100 a month. I'm sure many millions of other customers feel the same way.
As a matter of fact, my primary reason for switching to DirecTV in 2000 was because the cable company was dropping DMX (of all things) which at the time came with a separate set top box and 30 music channels for $5 extra per month. In my case when DirecTV switched to DMX (Sonic Tap) I really could say "what goes around comes around"!! It just took 9 years.
