No date on it, so I'm not holding my breath.

Also I'm probably moving to an apartment where I cant get DirecTV in the next month or two, so I'm probably not gonna be around to see this :(

I moved from Minneapolis back home to Minot, ND. Even though we have "locals" here, Minot, Bismarck, Williston and Dickinson are 1 DMA. So what I end up with is Bismarck feeds from ABC, CBS NBC, and I think 1 PBS channel. No FOX feed at all.

So I get locals OTA with the AM21. With the flooding last summer, Minot locals were almost a necessity. The only down side is that the MPEG-2 encoding really eats into your DVR space.

Has anyone heard any new news about HD locals in Fargo, ND? The end of the year is fast approching. I'm wondering if they are going to change the date or turn them on at 11:59pm on 12/31/12

Fargo, ND HD-LiL went into testing on October 17. There's no guarantee, but I suspect you'll see them sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Here's a list of what's testing:

577|*KXJB|4|A3 Fargo 04 KXJB CBS|CBS from KXJBDT-TV, 04, Fargo, ND
577|*WDAY|6|A3 Fargo 06 WDAY ABC|ABC from WDAYDT-TV, 06, Fargo, ND
577|*WDAZ|13|A3 Fargo 08 WDAZ ABC|ABC from WDA90WhDT-TV, 08, Fargo, ND
577|*KVLY|15|A3 Fargo 11 KVLY NBC|NBC from KVLYDT-TV, 11, Fargo, ND
577|*KFME|5|A3 Fargo 13 KFME PBS|PBS from KFMEDT-TV, 13, Fargo, ND
577|*KVRR|14|A3 Fargo 15 KVRR FOX|FOX from KVRRDT-TV, 15, Fargo, ND

  • Channels in the Excel TPN Map whose Names begin with an asterisk (*) are in TEST status
  • Channels shaded blue in the Excel are MPEG4. All HD channels are MPEG4, but SD channels can also be in MPEG4

Well that's cool that they're going to provide both versions of ABC to subscribers (WDAY-Fargo & WDAZ-Grand Forks).
IIRC we've got a WDAZ guy on the forum.
