When DirecTV installed my SWiM16 they ran grounding wires from the Slimline dish to the 16. They left my 8 way splitter in place that has a ground wire run to the house electrical ground There is nothing but RG6 connecting the the 16 and the splitter. Should the 16 also be connected to ground?

"I'd say" it wouldn't hurt to. The coax shield is connecting everything to ground, so it's working now, and in this case "bonding" the SWiM & the splitter [or moving it to the SWiM] isn't going to cause any issues, though it may not cure any either.

i would say as long as you have a messenger wire and the green wire on there it really shouldnt be a issue, but had i done it i would of attached it to the 16 myself, his way of thinking is that its there and connected is what i would assume what he thought!

I hate somewhat to say this, but please check your typing if you expect others to read it.
Spelling and grammar have never been my strong suit, but they sure help in communication.
