But there are only 2 possible reasons the Sabres v Leafs game was on CI tonight:

1) D* never got the word of NHLN's decision to take the Leafs over the Caps.

2) They got the word and blew it.

I'm guessing number 1. Not to defend D*, but this situation ( NHLN changing games ) happened several times this year, and CI never showed an NHLN game... until tonight.

Except that the guide, yes DirecTv's guide listed Sabres vs. Leafs on NHLN, so someone at DirecTv knew about this change.

So I opt for reason #2

On the surface you are correct, but it (or similar) issues happen throughout the season and numerous complaints fail to resolve them. Also, this was a HUGE playoff-race game entering into the final week of the season. No-excuse.

No idea what the contracts say. They may need to buy an extra game if it was not on the list. It is possible they cannot just turn on a game that was originally scheduled for the NHL network. Rights to games are not simple.

A pithy answer to the thread question would be InDemand or Roku...

On a serious note, the base contract provided for an SD feed for the Habs-Caps game. Other contractual considerations from the league and Directv would have provided the HD feed. It was missed.

Maybe SR could do a mea culpa and then we could move on....

You're just trolling, or don't know how life works I you think you deserve a full refund for missing a game. Anyone who thinks that deserves to work at their low-paying job,

Hi Cariera.

You may be right, but the guide info for NHLN comes from Tribune Media, while the mapping of CI channels and what should be blacked out comes from the NHL.

Either way, it was an amazing lack of communication.

You want what to never happen again? That you miss a game? By what parameters? Every game? Every game that gets bumped from a national channel? Define what you are asking for. And it will happen again. You are not guaranteed any specific games or number of games.

In general, stop throwing a tantrum.

Indemand on what carrier? It was also available on the nhl.com package, which is now doing "day passes" for $9.99/day.

Indemand is who supplies cable companies/telco with Center Ice.

Then put your money where your mouth is and don't subscribe to Center Ice next year, since you know it continually happens every year, or better yet leave Direct TV altogether if you think you can find green on the other side. Relax, it was one game that you missed.

You are wrong. There have been baseball games I wanted to watch that have not been on and I did not rant and rave. I understand what I bought. You obviously do not.

Nice insulting someone based on how much their job pays (which of course you have no way of knowing anyway), are you part of the 1% by any chance? The OP has every right to complain about not getting a game he should have gotten, I don't think he's going to get a refund of his CI package but he might get something free for a few months or be thrown some kind of bone.

Lol at the guy who thinks he deserves a full refund because of missing one game due to a last minute change by the NHL.

because Directv are idiots...

game was scheduled for NHL Network, but changed to Leafs-Sabres this past week

Directv never made the change to their Center Ice schedule to add it and unblackout Channel 642 for the ENTIRE Nation...

what is retentions email?

I'm requesting a FULL credit for NHL Center Ice...

I spent 45 minutes on the phone with customer service and they told me there was NO ONE there that could turn the game on...

I was happy to get the MSG feed of my Sabres in addition to the NHLN CBC feed. Since I received 1 extra game, I guess I should send them payment for another full season? On a serious note, I would be upset too if they didn't carry a game that I expected to see. Although a full refund is a bit much.

If someone makes a ridiculous request and is sincere about that request, I question that person's intelligence.
