I have followed the instructions in the pdf manual for the 40.0 UHF remote for the Hopper. It does not work for me.

Is anyone successful doing that, and have any suggestions?

The manual is wrong. Just go to remote manager on the hopper, select the tv device, select learn, and follow the prompts.
