You can use unsupported Whole Home DVR over ethernet without SWM.

If you want to use DECA you have to have SWM as far as I know.

So if the OP really is using a Wireless CCK he has to have SWM as far as I know.
Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

Alright, I think I have enough information to make things clearer. I have a SWiM lnb. I have one coax running to each DVR. So I have SWM, wireless CCK, and the 2 DVRs are set up for MRV. (No ethernet, all supported coax.)

I'm having a 3rd party ship the 34 since directv couldn't schedule a truck until Sep. 20. I'm going to swap my HR20 with the new HR34. Since I'll still just have the 2 DVRs, I was told in another thread that a straight swap will work, and that no additional equipment would be needed. Is this true? (I know I'll still just have 2 DVRs, but I'll be going from 4 tuners to 7.)

Thanks

Your SWM setup will be fine. You just can't go over 8 tuners total. Just remember to get rid of the extra stuff that goes with the HR20, the splitter and DECA etc. One coax cable goes to the 34, and that's it.
