Does anybody know if the online portion works in Europe?

You got to get a VPN to access it. There cheap to like 5-10 bucks a month.

Actually Europe has the same service like NFL Sunday Ticket but it's called NFL Game Pass. It's actually nicer because they give you a couple more cheaper pricing options.I know they offer something where if you don't want the whole package that lets you watch every game you can select a option to just watch your favorite team.

The only down side though is that once playoffs & Superbowl start you have to pay extra for it.

The games are streamed in HD quality.I had the full service back in 2008 when I was living & working in Germany.

I called in asked about my contract date and if there are any deals on Sunday ticket. It was interesting to me that the rep said the notes indicated which team that I am a fan.

I was offered ST (no max) for free with one yr commitment. I had 3 months remaining on my contract so I would add 9 months to my contract. I asked for red zone channel since I don't need the streaming. The rep added it on without a problem.

I am all set for the season. I was not going anywhere so the contract extension was fine. I just wish I had called in earlier so I would have only 8 month extension. My contract will be up just in time for next yr.

I didn't try for any programming credits. I may need other things later in the year and did not want to use up my credits.

After getting a $150 offer for ST & Max the other day, I called back yesterday afternoon. The deal I ended up with was Free ST and 4 payments of $25 for MAX. It is well worth the money at that price. Did not want to pursue more since I am already getting a boat load of credits.

Was this done with a retention rep or a regular csr?
Did you threaten to cancel or just ask for a deal?

I've tried twice for a better deal. No luck yet..

Called D* twice.

First call was to front line CSR. Asked about any Sunday Ticket deals and was told that there were no offers right now. I thanked her for her time and hung up and redialed.

On the second call, I said, "Cancel" at the prompt and was transferred to retentions department. After she had I asked how I was doing and after saying that I was doing fine, I immediately inquired about any Sunday Ticket deals. (No mention of canceling, etc.).

She asked me to hang on for a bit and that she would see what she could do. As I could hear here typing away at her computer, we talked about Football (College and NFL) as well as the Olympics. After a few minutes, she says that she has figured out a way to offer me Sunday Ticket free of charge, but I would have to commit to another 12 Months.

I asked about Red Zone and how it was bundled in with Sunday Ticket Max. I explained that I didn't have the need for all the online extras associated with MAX, but really was only interested in RED Zone.

After scrolling through her screen, she found a way to add on RED Zone for free, as well.

:)

I was then transferred to the "Verifications" department and they confirmed that I would be getting ST and RZC for free this year for my verbal agreement that I would extend my commitment 12 Months.

Great Deal!!! :biggthump

BTW. Been with D* Since 2003. Premier, ST, MLB EI, NBA LP, since 2003. Was still under contract before deal.

Just got off the phone with D. I said "cancel" when asked but was not hooked up with retention dept. The csr would not hook me up with them saying they are only allowed to do that for people who are cancelling their whole account. I told him I knew that not to be true. My contract runs out Aug 30. I told him I wanted to cancel RZ and asked what deal he could offer me for a 12 month ext. His only offer was $20 off my bill for 12 mos. He said he could do nothing for the NFL package. I guess I will have to call back and hope for a different rep. The number I called is 1-800-531-5000. Is this the correct number to call?

Update: Called again. Got the ST, RZ and To-Go for $100. Happy camper.

I've had Sunday Ticket now since 2008. Last year I paid full price for it including Max or whatever it was called to get remote Internet access to games... I called and haggled for the 2 years prior to that. I've always made monthly payments towards Sunday Ticket...never paid the full price in one installment.

Now, when I look at my last 2 statements (billing date is the 14th).. both for June and July 14th it says "NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX 2012 Renewal Notice: No Payment Due". When I login to my account to view my sports programming it says "NFL Sunday Ticket Max" Price: $0.00.

I noticed other people in this thread are seeing charges already appearing on their statements for Sunday Ticket so I'm just wondering if somehow I've been granted it for free this year...

Thanks.

I called for RZ because I had it last year as stand alone. Got nowhere so cancelled my HBO and next years extra innings which I love.
Got off the phone pissed off so started checking Dish that has the redzone standalone called back again, and this time retention gave me 1/2 off STmax for 147 one time payment. Still not happy I feel redzone should be offered as a stand alone just like Dish. I told them I wasn't happy so they threw in stars free for a year, 3 months of showtime and 10 dollar credit off bill for a year. Feel a little better now..
Normally I wouldn't haggle like this but RZ is one of my pet peeves it's BS they make you spend 300 dollars, $147 in my case for the same service others offer free or a small fee.

Made the annual call. We are off contract, HBO/Showtime, 5 receivers. Went with the 'cancel' at prompt approach. Believe I was transferred to retentions. Most of our past credits were expired. Asked the CSR if we could get additional credits as well as a ST deal. Was offered a $99 ST deal. I need RZ, and was offered the ST Max for $148 and took that. Was also offered $20 off for 12 months and took that.

He offered to upgrade our old HD DVRs (at least 1 for free, said maybe 2 and/or deals on the remaining boxes) and also whole home installation for free. I didn't take either, but he said the free upgrades are listed on our account and we can call back and get them.

Did you talk to retention? I am a similar customer, 10+ yrs, long time ST, no contract. Surprised they didn't do better, unless you didn't get retention.

So you were originally offered a savings of $240 but you're now happier with your $200 savings?

Just called, said "cancel" at the prompt. When the agent answered, I asked if she had any deals available for ST. She offered half off of either package, so $100 for basic, $147 for max . She then said she could add RZ to the basic for free, so took it. I then asked if there were any bill credits available to me, and she gave me $10 off for 12 months.

She then went to enter all of the info in, but for some reason, the system wouldn't let her add the RZ to basic with the half off deal. So she offered the basic package with RZ for free if I would commit for 1 year. I ain't going anywhere anyways, so I took it. Sweet deal! I got ST with RZ for FREE plus $120 in credits! :hurah::hurah::hurah:

For those who are weary about signing a 1 year agreement....the early termination fee is only $10 per month if you decide to cancel. I got $10 per month in bill credits for 1 year. Seems like a wash to me.....

Just got off the phone with retention and came away with the following deal without any hassle

1. ST plus redzone at no charge
2. 6 months free starz and HD Extra
3. 20/mo credit for 1 year

My contact was up recently and she did not reguire me to sign up for an extension.

I could not be any happier.

Saw a commercial last night that stated Sunday Ticket this year has 'no additional charge'. What does that mean? Was looking for the small print where it said 'new subscribers only' or something, and I didn't see it.

If it's no additional charge...why are people calling in for deals?

Sandra,

I saw the same thing last night and wondered if the deal was only for new customers too?

Are you sure it never mentioned "when you switch to Directv" or anything at all about new customers? That is the new customer offer, as it always is this time of year. I find it hard to believe there was no mention of switching to Directv or no mention of new customers during the the commercial. Would love to see it on you tube or somewhere else since I haven't seen it live.

I found the commercial on youtube:

If you read the fine print at the end it states "new approved customers only." I guess I will be calling CSR again this year.....

Called a couple days ago and talked to a regular CSR and the best he could do was $210 for ST Max. Politely declined and called again an hour later. The guy offered $269 first and then $210 later. Once again, I turned it down.

Called today and got hold of retention. The lady offered $148 for Max and I almost took it. I mentioned the 12-month commitment offer that most people have gotten here and she was able to provide it for me. So, I got ST Max for $100 with a one-year commitment.

Unrelated to ST, two years ago I got free HD for 24 months. That ended around this month so while on the phone I inquired about getting another 24 months of free HD. All she could do was offer 12 months free HD, so I took it.

All in all, pretty happy with the outcome. Nice to have another year of Sunday Ticket.

Go Texans!

how do you get retention on the phone?

I called and said cancel but then it asked if I wanted to close the account or change programming.

I said change programming and it just kept asking a bunch of questions.
