With no place to custom name the receiver, we are force to rely on the IP to ID each of our boxes and I know of no one that know which receiver is which by their IP.

I do! I do! I can't remember my wife's birthday after 45 years of marriage but I remember my 3 DVR's IP's as well as my first Visa card number from the (I think) 1970's which I haven't had for 30+ years!

Well Duhhhh! 201 is on the 1st floor (basement), 202 the 2nd floor (L/R) and 203 the 3rd floor (B/R). How's that for a neumonic? No explanation for the 30+ year old credit card.

This gadget is awesome! But I wish it would do more.

I've done some programming in MS Access/VBA/VB Script, VB 6, etc. Mostly C/C++ on linux tho.

If I had some pointers... I'd be completing this all the way. The apps for android are nice, but I usually have my laptop in bed, and the remote is RF with the box in another room. Sometimes the kids steal the remote.

I'm aware this is a couple month old thread, but i'm bumping it :D
