Glad to see DIY HD is being added. Any new HD is good news. Any guesses as to when it will launch?? Still hoping for H2,HLN,LMN,FMC etc.

My guess is next week Wednesday. I also think they learned from ION, and decided not to put this channel in test until the ink was DRY on their contracts. :D - So maybe that is why it went in to test on Thursday.
[Disclaimer] The definition of "soon" is based solely on DirecTV's interpretation of the word, and all similarities with dictionary definitions of the word "soon" are purely coincidental and should not be interpreted as a time frame that will come to pass within a reasonable amount of time.

I am the Stig.

Bingo, we have a winner.

Oh, HELL YES!!!

My wife will be very pleased. I've been wanting it too. TCM, BBCA, and DIY within a few months of each other. . . .this has been a very good summer by my lights!
LR(non-CE): HR44, Mits 65C9; Office/FR (CE): HR22-100 + AM21, Mits 60737 + Mits 3DA1 3D adapter. Spare bedroom (non-CE), HR23. Genie WHDVR, wireless networking (yay!)

  • CW HD-DNS
While I will continue to hold out hope that it will come prior to the start of the new Fall season (October 2nd is when it starts for The CW), I don't expect them until D14.
  • TV Land HD
My hope is that the recent Viacom deal included TV Land HD. Of all the channels on my wishlist not in testing, it's the one that I feel I have the best chance of receiving this year.
  • Lifetime Movie Network HD
Overall, I only watch this channel around November/December, so with it being August, it's higher on my list than it might usually be.
  • DIY-HD
Watched frequently at this home, and a highly watched channel in my area.
  • Cooking Channel
    Watched frequently at this home.
  • Ion HD
Overall, I only watch this channel around November/December, so with it being August, it's higher on my list than it might usually be.

Anytime an addition is not my top two, it's going to be a little disappointing to me, BUT...

Two of my Top Six most wanted NATIONAL HD channels in testing... I'll take it! :)

Finally I can see the awesome DIY shows in HD outside of early mornings on HGTV :D

The only non HD channel piquing my interest now and again is FMC
HR20-100
Sharp 52" LCD 1080p
Yamaha YSP Sound Projector fed with Optical
Harmony 700

HR22-100
32" Samsung LED New School

What was the trick for that again? I got my HR34 since the last wave of new channels and wasn't paying attention before.

TCM, BBCA, and DIY within a few months of each other. . . .this has been a very good summer by my lights!

TCMHD, BBCAHD, DIYHD, and IONEHD...

Let's see:

YEAR|# OF ADDITIONS I CARE ABOUT|CHANNEL
2012|2 (so far)|TCM-HD & BBCA-HD
2011|1|AMC-HD
2010|3|Lifetime-HD, Hallmark Channel HD, Hallmark Movie Channel HD
2009|1|Comedy Central
2008|1|ABC Family

*2008 and 2010 both brought me an additional channel that I have watched on occasion, but not enough that I'd actually miss them, so I left them out...

If DIYHD and IONEHD are added this year, 2012 will not only have beaten 2010 (even counting the additional channel I mentioned above) for NATIONAL** HD channel adds in my eyes, but any more additions from my wishlist beyond that will REALLY put it over the top.

This will potentially be the most NATIONAL HD additions for me in a single year since that first year that D10 went active.

** My locals were added in 2010, but for NATIONAL HD additions, 2012 is shaping up to potentially be the best it can be.

I'm grateful for any new HD, but I'd rather have H2.

Agree!:)

Nope... not exactly. It briefly showed up on DirecTV's website, but taken down.

IONEHD is still in testing though. I suspect it will come this month when Ion West's channel number is changed.

Yes... Ion West will be moving to #306 this month, and AXS TV will be moving to another channel at the same time.

I'm not but I don't want to rain on other's parade. I don't watch it at all and have no interest in it at all. Different strokes.

Yes, great for those wanting DIY but another sad exhalation for those of us desiring the addition of H2 HD (a sentiment exacerbated by the interminable wait for HD LIL in the Monterey DMA).

While not a fan of DIY I'm glad for those who are. Getting more HD beats not getting more HD!

Endorse this.

Continual additions means additions are happening. Even if not YOUR channel, additions give more hope for those YOU want.

Note. YOU does not mean MysteryMan but the generic YOU.
