y'all

Or "all y'alls"!

The correct progression is "none o' y'all", some o' y'all", "y'all", and "all o' y'all".

I've said "all y'alls" multiple times in my life. "Y'all's" is a frequently used slang word as well...

TCMHD, BBCAHD, DIYHD, and IONEHD...

Let's see:

YEAR|# OF ADDITIONS I CARE ABOUT|CHANNEL
2012|2 (so far)|TCM-HD & BBCA-HD
2011|1|AMC-HD
2010|3|Lifetime-HD, Hallmark Channel HD, Hallmark Movie Channel HD
2009|1|Comedy Central
2008|1|ABC Family

*2008 and 2010 both brought me an additional channel that I have watched on occasion, but not enough that I'd actually miss them, so I left them out...

DIYHD was the #4 channel in the poll, requested by one-third of everyone who voted.

The argument could be made that it was actually #3, based on strength of feeling (i.e. it got significantly more #1 + #2 votes than the #3 "cumulative" ranker, which pulled ahead with votes further down the priority list).

Said the man posting on DBSTalk.com...

The only missing now from the top-8 is H2 and IFC.

I'd personally be willing to bet that had TV Land and Pac-12 Network been available at the time, IFC probably wouldn't have made the Top 8. I think H2 might have still been in the Top 8 though... :)

Oh, I want H2, and voted for it under the old name on the last poll. . . .just lower than I did BBCA, TCM, and DIY. :)

H2 is not high on my list, but I want it eventually too! :)

Given what I've heard about IFC, it's much farther down... but I wasn't looking at my personal tastes as Pac-12 is not wanted by me at all. I just suspect it would rank pretty high in the rankings.

I think I voted for H2 as 4th, and even tho it is the highest left on the table from my votes in the poll, I wouldn't vote for it as #1 in a new poll. Probably be 3rd or 4th again.

I suspect FMC (which was not available in HD at the time) would smoke IFC in a new poll.

I'll run another poll in Q4.

It would be very helpful if someone will create a list of every HD channel that should be in the poll.

Only HD channels that actually exist today, or will be available within the next few months.
DirecTV: Genie HR44, H25, CCK, GenioGo, SWiM-16 & SWiM-8, DECA to Gigabit Switch with FiOS (75/75)
FiOS: Roamio Pro's (2), Roamio Plus, Mini's (4) with Ultimate HD (My Roamio Thoughts)

I'll make that a priority later this month. :)

If everyone reading this would look at my long list on the first page of this thread and make any corrections to the RSN list or Spanish language channels, I'd appreciate it.

If DIYHD and IONEHD are added this year, 2012 will not only have beaten 2010 (even counting the additional channel I mentioned above) for NATIONAL** HD channel adds in my eyes, but any more additions from my wishlist beyond that will REALLY put it over the top.

This will potentially be the most NATIONAL HD additions for me in a single year since that first year that D10 went active.

** My locals were added in 2010, but for NATIONAL HD additions, 2012 is shaping up to potentially be the best it can be.

~Alan
