Got a link to the official confirmation?

I can find nothing here outside the tweet by Kevin Ding.

Sad for us and dish customers as the lone stubborn holdouts now ...

So Directv once again is going to be the last major TV provider to reach a deal.

The people hurting the most financially over D* holding out over this channel is sports bars and businesses in the Lakers DMA coverage. They seriously are losing thousands of dollars each night the Lakers are on and they can't show the games.

I thought you went to AT&T, you sure seem to like it around here.

Here's a newflash, Comcast, the largest television provider in the USA, still doesn't have a deal. Neither does Dish, the #3, neither does DTV, the #2. So once AGAIN, your comments are wrong.

As I mentioned yesterday, the deals that Dish and DTV have to do are much different than the cable deals anyway. They have to encompass outer market zones which the cable guys don't.

And they make 10's of thousands of dollars showing NFL Sunday Ticket games that TWC can't provide them. Or Dish, or Cox, or Comcast, or Charter, or AT&T, or FIOS, or or or or or.

I'm sure the bar owners are frustrated. Guess what, come January or February of 2013 they're going to be frustrated, too, when their bills go up significantly to pay for these channels as well. Works both ways.

Seriously what is your damn problem.

I have every right to post in here my displeasure with Directv.

I'm still a paying a Directv customer right now.

You may not like what I have to say but telling me to go to a different forum and post there is wrong.

I really want to see when your so called sources are wrong about Directv reaching an agreement to carry the channel within 7 days like you posted earlier.

Can't wait to see your explanation.

Chicagoblue

Put his reputation and credibility on the line when he himself came in here a few days ago posting that statement and saying to check his history on issues like this channel.

I seriously want to see him try to save face and explain himself when that time comes and passes and Directv is still holding out and still does not has not reached an agreement to carry the channel.

No one here thinks root is charging $4 a month....

According to this article, Root Sports gets between $2.33 - $3.26 per sub per month. http://www.google.co...xCbzkRhHFbHbqTQ

So it's not any spin. Now, who knows the accuracy of all of this, but if Directv can charge $3.26 per sub in Pittsburg then maybe $3.95 would be the going rate for a program like the Lakers. Of course, value is in the eyes of both parties in an unrelated deal. And if Root Sports Northwest can clear $2.84 a month with very little winter content then you'd have to assume the Lakers would be worth more.

Apparently, Cox has reached agreement, according to the "crawl" on one of this morning's LA newscasts.

Well, way back when (like two weeks ago!) I was asked why I was jumping to conclusions in believing that TWC Sportsnet would not be available on DirecTV by the time the NBA season started. In this case I HATE to be right.

It's obvious DirecTV has a different negotiating model, which makes you wonder what will happen when future negotiations for other channels will take place.

I am very disappointed in DirecTV right now.
