This 9+ year DIRECTV customer has drawn a line in the sand. This Friday if we don't have TWC Sportsnet I will be calling AT&T U-Verse. I originally was thinking TWC, however after researching, I feel AT&T U-Verse is the better option for me. I already have their max speed Internet. Plus, my house is fully wired for Internet in all our rooms. This will be a simply install for the AT&T dude. I think AT&T TV gets bad reviews because more people live further from the VRAD thingy than close. As for me, the VRAD box is right next to my house. I could actually spit on it from my backyard fence, that's how close it is. No joke. For me, AT&T service should be great. Lastly, I priced AT&T, very competitive. Do I wanna switch? Hell no! Do I want my Lakers? Hell yes! DIRECTV is forcing my hand. I'm well aware I'll lose a few HD channels. However, I'll gain far more. When I call to cancel (or suspend) DIRECTV, it will take a boatload of freebees to keep me.
Gotta do whatcha gotta do, man. DirecTV above all others understands sports fans are passionate --they built a whole business model around it.
Luckily, the universe has a sense of humor, so you leaving will pretty much guarantee D* will make a deal shortly thereafter. But someone has to be "that guy", so might as well be you.
