Glad the Laker fans are getting some love, now lets let DirecTV work on getting CSN Houston so I can watch the Rockets!

Would love to see HRTV on 603. It's been ten years now, with all the sports channels that DirecTV should add, HRTV is the one who has been waiting the longest, Why DirecTV turns a blind eye to HRTV is beyond comprehension. I'm glad to see Lakers fans finally getting thier channel, maybe someday PAC 12 too. As for now ch. 603 is open and the perfect spot for HRTV!!!

The news was RIGHT on time, 30 minutes before my scheduled U-Verse install.... I was dreading paying for both DTV and U-Verse and having the silly little U-Verse DVR just for Lakers games. Even though I cancelled the install over the phone, the installer still showed up just to make me feel bad! ;-)

How did you avoid the one year service agreement they are now tying to their packages? I was exploring Uverse for the same reasons you did, but I saw that service agreement requirement and decided that Cox was a better option.

Glad I was waiting till this weekend before I added a needless cable box to my life.

U-Verse well at least my experience with them always had options to either sign up for service with or without a contract. It came out to about a $25 monthly price difference if you signed a 1 year contract agreement with them.

From the reports I've seen. Customers need to be subscribed to the sports pack which is like $11.99 a month.

So Mike White blinked? I thought the RSN model was broken and we were supposed to see a shift in RSN's to the Sports Pack, or a la carte. I guess the Lakers were just too important to go without. I really didn't think this deal was going to get done. I still don't hold out hope for the P12Net, but I would love to be wrong again...

Unless you have access to the exact terms of the deal, you have no idea which side "blinked."

Until and unless we know the terms, we don't know who blinked or if they just found a mutual point.

While White can still say the RSN model is broken, DirecTV did have a price point in mind for TWC. That was pretty much public in the statements that it cost too much for what they were delivering.

Did they compromise on the price? Did DirecTV blink? Did TWC blink? Did the get creative like the PAC 12 did with Dish?

We don't know and may never really know.

Oh were you in negotiations? Please share how White blinked. I bet it's an intriguing story.
