Despite its quirks I still like the D* unit (HR24) better. The QIP7232 2 doesn't rewind or fast-forward to any mark. 8x is the fastest. The recordings let you do it but not the live memory buffer :( Hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this.

That clock on the FiOS box looks like it's right out of 1992...

You should have seen the clock on the FiOS 6xxx units! :D

Still, I didn't switch to FiOS because of the clock's appearance.

More like 1982.


I tried a Cablevision HD DVR last year and the only thing I liked about it was that it had a display that showed elapsed time on the recording. My Sammy BD players have the same feature and I like it better than D*'s blank front panel (I know about the lights). Aside from that feature, the DVR was a POS. Comparatively.
