What number or department can I call at DirecTv to set up an RV account and be sure to find someone on the other end of the phone who knows what I am talking about and who can set up the account?

DIRECTV offers RV programming through authorized RV dish dealers.

All I need is two receivers I can activate and the appropriate programming package. I have a dish, I don't need any other. NOBODY at DirecTV itself can set up such an account?

I'm not sure if this page is current, but it is what I found using Google:

http://support.direc...nd-mobile-homes

I think part of the issue stems from the fact that you must produce an RV title to qualify for RV service. I think this may have been a step towards thwarting those trying to get DNS for their home (or another country) when they didn't otherwise qualify.

As for setting up a RV account, you must go thru a authorized RV dealer/support location, such as Camping World. There have every thing to get you going.

From Longview, I know it is a long drive, but there is a Camping World in Houston.

Are you selling-moving out of your house and going full time RV? Is this why you would like to get an RV account?

If you are NOT going full time RV, then you do not need a special RV account. Just take a reciever with you and your dish and have fun.

Just remember that if you go to far, you will not get your locals.

I was able to set up my RV account by mail, without going through an RV dealer at all. I just sent in the forms from the D* web site, and my RV title, to the address provided.

That was a while ago, not sure if it's still possible.

I'm the OP and have a current DTv residential account. We will be full time in an RV starting in a couple of months. What I want to do is to keep my residential account for a month or two, and start up an RV account soon.

Here's the results of recent phone calls:

I called 888-777-2454, was referred to a second DTv number, and then to a third DTv number and was referred finally to Winegard. I was assured that Winegard is a dealer for DTv and could help me and answer all my questions. I called Winegard, and they could answer my questions, except that the answer was that a DirecTv dealer can not start up a second account for someone if they already have an account. Winegard says this is DTv's policy, not theirs.

So Winegard is who can do this for me, according to DTv, but Winegard says they can't because DTv requires them not to.

Surely someone at DTv knows the answer. All I want them to do is to start a second account and let me pay them more money. How do I find that person?

Perhaps a friendly e-mail to ceo@directv.com may help.

There's also a contact page for the office of the CEO:

Just call the sales dept tell them you need a second account, leave the RV part out of it

anyone can have two accounts, you may not get the promos with the second account though

why not just take the home account and put it in the rv?

any dealer will install a RV account, wineguard makes the dishes for HD for campers, really doesnt do directv accounts, they can but same as RV world, just go to a dealer they will set you up, not the rv dealer, a directv dealer.
Dish -- 722k, 722, 612, 512, 510

Directv -- HR34, HR24, 2 H25's, 2 H24's
