First, calm down. Second, reset the box.
If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

It's When you press the info button. The Top Banner that displays the channel number and program you are watching it's lighter on the right and you can see thru parts of it. It is not all black the way it always was.

This is something new for sure. I checked mine and it is that way also. I have not gotten new software since June 26, 2012 so it is not new software that is the problem.

Edit : Update : I reset my receiver and it is like it is supposed to be now.

Thanks. I just reset both my HD Receivers and the banner is back to normal. I wonder what DirecTv did to make the Top Banner look that way? It was this afternoon when they did it because this morning I was watching TV and I did not notice it then.

It's just a graphics glitch.

If a reset fixed the problem then it was a glitch, not something done on purpose.

It sounds like something you should report in the issues thread.

Since it costs 2.4¢ to produce a penny, my 2¢ worth is really 4.8¢ worth.  That 4.8¢ is my own and not the 4.8¢ of DIRECTV, Dish, or anyone else for that matter.

A glitch on all these receivers? At the same time? No.

"Glitch" is D*fender speak for poorly written code combined with poor pre-release testing and / or poor release management.

Deliberate? Probably not.

Something done by DirecTV? Yes.
