Bring on more hd channels.

There's been a boatload of transponder rebalancing, so they could be getting ready for more upgrades.

If I'm counting right, in the last week they made 5 new 1060/1070, which should mean 5 new HD slots available to be filled elsewhere.
LR(non-CE): HR44, Mits 65C9; Office/FR (CE): HR22-100 + AM21, Mits 60737 + Mits 3DA1 3D adapter. Spare bedroom (non-CE), HR23. Genie WHDVR, wireless networking (yay!)

That's good news.....more HD, more enjoyment! Now they have to just get the right channels that most of us want.

FXM
TVLand
Reelz

Need to add Reelz HD

I do not watch Reelz because of the way they butcher movies. HD is not going to fix that.

That's a hard statement to make these days - BBCA and DIY represented pretty much the last of the channels that most of us wanted. It's been a good year.

Personally - I'll take any HD additions happily, but I'd really like to see H2 and HLN added.

TNN isn't going to be on DirecTV, Dish or cable. It will be on another venue. I forgot which.

Wow! Hadn't heard that! Why wouldn't it be on DirecTV? All they have to do is update the guide name from SPIKEHD to TNNHD. I personally think this is a good move to return to TNN, as Spike lost its edge after WWF Raw switched back to USA.
HR24 - Samsung UN55D8000, HR22 - Panasonic PT-AE7000U, H24 - Samsung HL-S5668W, MRV, Slimline SWM5

As I understand it, the new TNN is going to be a distributed subchannel. Spike isn't going anywhere.
LR: HR34-700, H24-200, Fios DVR, BD350 Blu Ray, Roku Netflix Player, Chromecast, Sony 65w850 TV
BR: HR21-200, Viso 32LX, DB350 Blu Ray
Dish: Slimline, SWM8
Other: genieGo

Right. Completely different ownership. The trademarks and logo from TNN were bought from Viacom, so they'll be totally unrelated.

Reelz has been showing original (or American exclusive) content... and I suspect that may be why some want it.

Yeah, I've tried to watch a few things on Reelz, but the picture quality is just so awful it's hard to sit through. I wouldn't put it on the top of my HD-Most-Wanted list, but it would be nice to have. Right now H2 is in the no. 1 position.

They have an HD Feed of Reelz, on Galaxy 17, on C band, so it does exist.

Everybody knows my main (CW HD-DNS & TV Land HD) two wants. Outside of those, the numbers are somewhat blurry as to where a channel sits on my wishlist.

If I had Reelz in HD, I probably would have watched "XIII" and "Bomb Girls", but I'm not really upset about it like the two channels mentioned above. Reelz may be in my top 10, but where it stands on the list... :scratchin

I think IFC and H2 are my only two big wants left. I'm pretty happy now.

I would research if there is any major show premier or new episodes of anything, because that is when DirecTV decides to add HD channel, or how is the channel's ratings for that matter.

I wondered about that. Dish fires it up in HD now and then which led me to believe it wasn't a full time HD channel.

Universal Sports and Cooking are my top two, but I would not complain if we get ID, WE, or H2. Beyond those, there is nothing that really interests anyone in my household that is available in HD and not already on DirecTV in HD. ESPN Full Court and Military Channel in HD would be welcome additions, but they do not even exist in HD, yet.

To me, it would be all the soccer/sports channels in Spanish, ESPN Deportes, Fox Deportes, BeIn En Espanol and GolTv. If these 4 were offered in HD, even though I don't speak Spanish, I'd pay the 15 bucks to add them. That said, 2 of them were originally available in the SportsPak, Fox Deportes and GolTv.
Aside from those sports channels, Directv took care of my # 1 channel request this year: BBC America. I'm happy with Directv adding HD channels that are widely request by others, such as H2, GSN, TVLand, or, CW-HD DNS for Alan Gordon :)

Rip: Comcast: July 2005 - April 2009 & Dish Network: April 2009-July 2011
Directv since June 2011 and loving it!
Directv wish list:BBC World News, Fox Deportes HD, WatchEspn, FoxSports2Go

I believe it's a full-time channel.

While DISH carried it part-time only for a while, I don't believe the channel itself was ever a part-time channel (wow... I started to break into song). I also could be wrong, but I think the channel is full-time on DISH now.

H2 and OWN are the two I want. My wife watches OWN all the time, she loves that channel. Cooking channel and Universal Sports I would also like.

But quite frankly.... If we don't get any more HD this year, this was already a GOOD year in HD additions.
