If My Little Pony is your thing, more power to ya! :D

it's got a pretty big adult fanbase actually (wikipedia article).

To return to topic somewhat, the hub is in HD on dish, fios, u-verse, and a lot of cable systems. I don't think it's too much to ask if directv would join that list after the negotiations.

Yeah I would agree. It's a good addition for families with kids. :)

My guess? 1st quarter 2013 for The Hub in HD.

Nat Geo Wild is in HD???

FAITH: I find the lack of it disturbing.

Opinions are my own but should be those of all Americans, who would be much better off intellectually, psychologically, and emotionally if that were the case.

Just downloaded a LOGO HD VOD program, very good picture quality (looks like true HD), they have a very small logo bug in the very top left inside the 4:3 safe area and almost cut off.

So if they have an agreement to show HD content from those networks, I wonder how long until the actual channels go HD?

Still wondering what the hold up is with H2 in HD, as they have been promoting H2 frequently on Facebook. Why promote a channel in SD?

Why promote a channel in SD?

Because History Channel is paying them to promote it. DirecTV never promotes channels unless they have some financial gain and/or own the channels. They will advertise PPV, Sports Packages, Audience Network, etc.... but if a general national TV network wants to be promoted by carriers, they PAY them to do so.

I had high hopes for "Misfits" HD content when you said LOGO HD VOD, but alas, only 1 of the 3 or 4 episodes available had an HD tag associated with it. :(

H2 should give DirecTV a discount on carriage costs if they carry the HD version. More people like myself might actually tune in if it was in HD. More people tuned in = more eyes on their advertising and better ratings. Better ratings mean they can charge more for advertising space and recoup the discount given to direct tv and then some on top of that.

OR Directv should say we will promote your content if you offer us the HD feed at no extra charge to your SD feed. It's the same shows, just better quality, and if we have better quality that will appeal to more customers and we can offer a better product than others.

As appealing as this sounds to us HD snobs, these kinds of "threats" (give us HD at same price or you can't advertise with us) are really not good for business relations between media companies and carriers like DirecTV.

You can't just go out and bully everyone. Besides, when it comes down to it.... H2 isn't going to lose masses amounts of customers, so why is there a NEED to pull a stunt like that? Staying friendly, negotiating when things are calm and good.... is a much better strategy.

DirecTV might already have the rights to H2 in HD but has not put it up yet for other reasons. Once all of the realignment of channels on transponses is completed, we might see some of these channels in HD.

I don't know when exactly, but the Discovery Networks contract is supposed to be renegotiated before the end of the year. Hopefully that means The Hub in HD. The My Little Pony season 3 premiere is November 10th; I'd love to watch it in HD.

And how old are you?

Enjoying AT 250 HBO,

Oh wow I just noticed this COOKING, Food, Travel Channel, BET, Spike, VH1, Nick, Comedy Central, TNT, LOGO, VH1 Classic, MTV all have HD VOD content now!!! :)

It was only about a week ago I checked and only the following Basic networks had HD VOD content:
Audience
A&E
History
AXS.tv

So after looking through all the VOD channels here is my updated list for networks with HD VOD content:

Basic:
1229 HGTV
1230 DIY
1231 Food Network
1232 Cooking Channel
1239 Audience
1241 Spike
1245 TNT
1249 Comedy Central
1265 A&E
1269 History
1272 LOGO
1277 Travel Channel
1300 Nick
1329 BET
1331 MTV
1335 VH1
1337 VH1 Classic
1340 AXS.tv
Premium:
1501 HBO
1515 MAX
1527 STARZ
1535 ENCORE
1545 SHOWTIME
1546 Showtime Free Sampler
1554 TMC
1561 HDNet Movies
1100 MGM*
1563 Sony Movie Channel
1565 Smithsonian
1568 Shorts
Seasonal Sports:
1005 NFL Sunday Ticket
3D:
105 n3D

*They currently have free 1080p HD content available through channel 1100 (although when downloaded it will show 1000), its quite tedious to find the titles on the DVR but much easier through this link on the D* website

I'm almost embarrassed to ask this ,but here goes :) When ever I try to access the VOD channels by punching the numbers in nothing happens and it won't change to them.If this helps any I'm trying this from my favorites list that I set up.Or should I try it from the channels I get and see what happens then.

I have a HD-DVR HR 23-700 and it's hard wired to the internet so I'm good there.

Thanks
