I just want to say that I love, love, love having Turner Classic Movies and BBC America in HD. Thank you Directv! :) Great old movies on TCM and Doctor Who, James Bond, and more on BBCA all add up to getting a lot more value from what I pay for Directv.

I know it's only available in the Spanish package, but is GolTV still available in HD?

Edit: Actually Directv says it's not available at all anymore.

There are only two (national) HD channels now that I REALLY want... one of which I don't really expect anytime soon (though I'm not as skeptical as I used to be), and another which I feel stands a decent chance of making it this month. Those channels are CW HD-DNS and TV Land HD.

TV Land On Demand now has some HD content, so if they offer their original content in HD on there, I'm good until the linear channel comes along.

The CW recently struck a deal with Comcast to offer HD VOD, so my HOPE is that maybe DirecTV will offer the same "soon".

Would I prefer linear channels? Absolutely, but DirecTV's recent addition of HD VOD to TV Land On Demand has somewhat lessened my sense of urgency for the channel.

With this year's additions, and the new VOD developments, I think my main interest will be in seeing my HD-LiL improve (ABC-HD, and CW-HD added when available).

Downloaded an HD episode from TVLand VOD. Very good quality. Hope we see the HD channel soon, along with LMN, HLN, ID, H2, etc......SR mentioned more HD is coming and I believe it will be sooner rather than later.

This is good news on multiple levels. Nice to have the HD VoD at all, of course.

But as someone else pointed out upstream, it almost also certainly means that D* already has the rights for linear channel HD as well on these, when the resources become available, which the new encoders probably mean will be sooner rather than later.
LR(non-CE): HR44, Mits 65C9; Office/FR (CE): HR22-100 + AM21, Mits 60737 + Mits 3DA1 3D adapter. Spare bedroom (non-CE), HR23. Genie WHDVR, wireless networking (yay!)

I would like the Military Channel in HD, too; however, it does not exist yet. Before DirecTV can add it in HD, Discovery Comunications has to create it in HD. That one is beyond the control of DirecTV.

NEW HD VOD content:
1567 Palladia (New VOD channel, ALL content is HD)

Updated post in my signature also. Should not come as a huge surprise considering the amount of new HD VOD content being added from Viacom owned networks. Also I am not seeing TNT VOD at all, although it might only be down temporarily.
