Epix has been slow to grow their distribution since signing that Netflix deal.

It wasn't that long ago though Viacom tried to force it down DirecTV's throat.

You will in about 2 weeks

With the Showtime upgrade complete, is Starz/Encore still on track or was it delayed?

Figure I'll ask here. Did BabyFirst TV (293) get an upgrade?

It is no longer in 4x3 format and is much clearer.

Since its MPEG-4 only (requires HD equipment), it appears DirecTV has made it a native 16:9 widescreen SD channel? I wonder if its like a 720x480 resolution or similar? The SD MPEG-2 feeds are only like 480x480.

Looking forward to more HD as SR has mentioned. I would guess sometime in first quarter of 2013, although this year would be great.(wishful thinking)....H2, LMN, HLN would be nice additions.

Yes, I would definitely like to have H2 and HLN in HD!!! :)

The choice of 16x9 versus 4x3 is from the channel, no?

Chiller and Cloo would be nice. A number of their shows and movies were HD to begin with.

Has anyone checked out the on demand lately? Cooking, Reelz, LMN, H2, Logo and Tvland all have programs that u can view in HD yet directv does not carry these as HD channels, is this a sign of things to come?

While it is possible, I think it more likely that is an indicaton those channels will be coming to DirecTV in HD in the nearish future (months, not years). The reason I think that, is those are all ad-supported channels, and thus they would much prefer to have real-time or near-time (DVR) eyeballs watching them.

Although SatelliteRacer did hint that there may be something in the pipeline.... if there isn't anything in test tomorrow, I think this year is done and dusted for new HD.

That said, it was a marvelous year and everyone got something they wanted! Great year for HD additions.

Pretty sure the year is done.

Maybe we will see something in January.

Maybe with linear. I'm still holding out for Starz Play access and a large amount of Starz and Encore on-demand content that was rumored to be launched prior to the holidays; similar to what we just got with Showtime.

:(

I was looking over the last week to see if those series' season premieres would have their HD made available on TV Land On Demand. No luck.

Usually TV Land's On Demand content is delayed by about 2 or 3 weeks.

TV Land's season premieres are now available On Demand.

and with the new year I'll SEMI lose my calling card to post on this specific topic..When my contract is up im washing my hands of D* somewhat

Since big cable added the NFL Network and NFL Redzone

I've had 0 use for anything sports related on D*

Had 6 Boxes I returned to D* from the bar..Kept only 1 since Im locked into contract. I will keep 1 box for D* at the bar incase sports disputes pop up and I can always show the games via HDMI/red/green/blu cables heaven forbid yellow red white if i need to pump it to more than 1 TV. Time Warner gave me a sweet deal to get more boxes for FREE.. couldn't pass that up, to the big sack of nothing D* ever discounted me..

But I'll be removing it from my home when the shackles come off as well..

Till then i'll play my harmonica on the impending sunset of any more HD channels for 2012..

Encore Action and Encore Drama began broadcasting in HD in August, 2011 but are not yet available in HD with DirecTV.

Thank you. Hopefully, Directv will consider adding them sooner rather than later.

Does anyone have any information about when more Showtime OnDemand will be added? I really enjoying being able to watch basically every episode of all the HBO shows.

Yes I know they are available, have they added more content to ondemand? I checked a few weeks ago, for example you could only download this years episodes of Dexter. HBO ondemand has every episode from every season of all of their shows.
