HR34 Issues - Green Sparkles and Gray Screens

I am seeing green sparkles on the screen. Easier to see in darker backgrounds. It's not the tv or my receiver admit doesn't do it on the same input with a Blu Ray player attached. I haven't seen this issue in the thread.

Also, frequently when I change channels I get a gray screen the looks like a jigsaw picture of the screen. It's hard to describe. I thought it might be because the 34 was just installed and things needed to load up. But I have not seen this on any other D* receiver and I have had a bunch of them. Thanks for any thoughts.

Check your cables.....that sounds suspiciously like an HDMI handshake problem.

It's the "Genie's" magic dust, an enhancement.

Really, it sounds like an HDMI issue. One of your ports or your HDMI cable are going bad.

Could it be the HDMI port on the HR34?

It could be, but its very easy to test another cable or another HDMI port on your tv.
