Originally set up as a channel devoted to the culture of video games and the digital world, G4 today canceled its long-running shows Attack of the Show and X-Play, according to gaming blog Kotaku, in what is expected to be a rebranding of the channel into a young male's haven in the vein of men's magazines GQ and Esquire.

Let's be honest - there just weren't enough people watching this channel. Time for a reboot.

Kind of hard to watch when you don't receive the channel. ;)

I agree, the show went down hill after the name change and after Kevin Rose and Sarah Lane left.

The downhill slide accelerated when they dumped TechTV.

Candace Bailey and Sarah Jean Underwood were the only reasons I watched G4.

Figured this was coming I quit watching both Shortly after Kevin P. and Adam S. left each show. Probably 3 months or more now. Both could have easily gone on without them but they didn't. X play started reviewing Shoes last I saw and AOTS started a revolving door of mostly bad guest hosts that spouted their own agenda's for a good 5 straight minutes every show. Towards the end I could knock out AOTS in 5-10 minutes and Xplay was 2-5.

Glory days were definitely back during the Kevin Rose, Leo Laporte, Sarah Lane, Alex Albrecht and many others.

And most are better off now. Though we are approaching the 6th anniversary of the James Kim tragedy.
