PTAT can be accessed via sling, but PTAT shows "saved" to the internal HD are not visible; ie if a series is recorded, only the one or two episodes visible in PTAT view are available.

"Saving" a PTAT recording to the user partition of the HD is probably just adding a pointer to the location on the HD where PTAT shows are stored, but this should also be visible via sling, not just on the hopper and joeys.

Another related question is storage. Is the amount of HD space allotted to PTAT dynamic rather than fixed? Suspect dynamic, such that HD space utilized by storing a number of episodes of each series being recorded impacts total free space, but doesn't impact PTAT function.

Not a pointer; using quotas. Check my posts about using quota for dish DVRs.
