But DSL also is distance sensitive. Cable speed is more dependent on the cable company, and how many are on it. For me though, neither DSL or cable will ever be a viable option. I've been spoiled.

Spoiled with what?????

You seem to be obsessed with speed....it doesnt help gaming, gaming is more about quality, unless you live in a house full of constant downloaders, noone needs 45M download speeds.

Well, let's consider HD video. Some of you (and you know who you are) have 4 TVs going in the house showing different programs at the same time. Let's say they're all coming from an online video source. If we go full broadcast resolution (which is lower than Blu-Ray), that's 4x19Mbps. You aren't going to get that with 45Mbps.

But of course no one "needs" that kind of speed. Wants it, we does, our PRESCIOOOOOOOOOUS!

Ive got AT200 Dish net. economy comcast internet, vonage basic $114 a month. I had ATT phone with DSL bundle long time ago and DSL would not to realible :nono2:every time it rained and lighting my DSL connection would fail a common problem with DSL and the 2-wire ATT hook up.

I use economy comcast internet too and it seems ok on wifi, but that's because i don't do a lot of downloading besides SW. Youtube and Netfix seems fine but i do have to change wireless channel or it slows down if neighbors are on the same one.

ISO's of BD's are not illegal. Bypassing the protection to rip commercial BD's is though.

And I'm just as guilty. I have iso's of my entire dvd/bd collection sitting on a few hdd's. I feel that I have every right to protect my investment. And let's be honest here, our elected officials will never change the drm laws in favor of consumers. Just my way of protesting. ;)

I'm not sure you and Hoosier are correct. I could swear I read sometime last year in a few places that some ruling was made that an archival copy was not allowed. Unfortunately I don't remember where or exactly when.

That said you might be able to find a few archives around my house too! :)

Legal or not legal is not an issue for this forum.

You can also also bundle Directv & ATT services. Just a heads up if your wanting to avoid U-Verse.
