There really isnt one, but some laws in your state may override that.

DirecTV's policy is that once you are installed and activated, you're on the hook for the 2 year contract. There is no trial period. However, as others have stated, some states have consumer laws on the books that trumps DirecTV's policy.

Get the signature on the lease agreement before you start, or bounce, let DirecTv worry about windows.

It does depend on the state. Personally, I think someone should get three days.

Here can you rewire my entire house.. It's ten rooms all 59, oh yah 6 are fishes and the other 4 are double floor fishes, and I want my dish on a pole 125 feet away.

3 days later .. Eh I don't really like how the dish looks in my field.

Man this slk350 isn't as fast it I thought it was before I put 1,000 miles on it two days ago .

Eh .. This steak wasnt really how I liked it cooked ... But sir did you have to eat the whole thing before complaining ?

Just poking fun lol

There are all sorts of interesting scenarios. I need a signature on the lease agreement in my handheld in order to activate. Should I do all the work and then have them refuse to sign? It has happened, just not to me....there is a thread around here about folks complaining because they are billed for things they didn't sign up for...why bother.

For everyone it's 24 hours from the time of activation. There are in some very rare cases where it can be longer however it's not from the activation date at that time so it's possible that the 24 hours is actually longer in those cases. So for all intent and purposes it's 24 hours.

The contract period to cancel is twenty four hours. In some states you are able to cancel up to fifteen days after your order is placed if your confirmation email/letter is different from the offer that was verbally promised by direct sales. If you order through a retailer then you are not eligible for the fifteen day period and if your install was fifteen days or more after the date your order was placed you only have the regular twenty four hour period available to you to cancel without penalty.
