Why do I see some people here have or claim they have more then 1 HR 34?

I thought Directv wasn't allowing activation of more then 1 HR 34 per account.

According to solid signal that true as well?

What the loophole I'm missing?

I think there are some here who participated in certain pre-release tests. I'm sure they will honor their agreement not to discuss it.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, DISH, The Signal Group, or any other company.

If I know about it, they already broke their honored agreement.

I see it in signatures, I see it in diagrams,
If its not aloud for everyone to lease 2 HR34's then its should be kept behind closed doors for the ones who are "Beta Testing"

Perhaps it should be whispered?

I'm sure Directv can't wait to get their hands on your unit.

Perhaps it should be whispered?

Why not?
Its not Customer policy to have 2.
So isn't that something that should be kept behind closed doors, just like Cutting Edge.?

I would think so.

And so to compensate you bring up a taboo topic? Remember there is no fight club. The policy as far as we all know is 1 HR34 per regular customer acct.

Didn't know it was a Taboo topic, which is why I asked. I though Directv was really letting customers have 2 now.
Again if it was so TABOO, it wouldn't have been all over the forums and in people signatures.

Having 2 HR34's isn't the taboo subject he was referring to.

OK type the word in google and see what happends. Thats far from Taboo as well. Your competition Site took care of that a long time ago.

Mods can close this thread if they wish. Since 2 can't be had, then there is no point to contine. But another request ,maybe have them signatures removed and keep this topic conversation in the special area. Thanks. Just a suggestion!:)

There are other websites, but we're not in any competition.

Earlier this year I bought two HR 34s through SS to replace three older HRs, and incorporated them in a home with six other HD receivers using a wired LAN to connect it all together. Had zero issues with DTV and it worked perfectly until a couple months ago. Since then, sometimes I have to restart an HR 34s so it is able to play programs on the other 34. This happens to both 34s. But the regular HD receivers never need restarting and see both 34s. After setting static IPs for the 34s the frequency of the resets has come down to maybe once or twice a week. Hoping with the next update it becomes more stable again.

You can have multiple HR34s on commercial accounts. You don't have to be a business to have a commercial account, either. Just get enough tuners on your system and you'll qualify.

But isn't commercial pricing higher.

The DTV infrastructure isnt setup for 2 HR34's....theres a reason for not allowing two yet....dont call for troubleshooting or you will lose one of them...SS site also states only one per account
My comments and opinions are my own and not necessarily those of DirecTV.

I also acquired two HR34's earlier this year through a DTV-authorized 3rd party source to swap out my old SD units. I have a standard account and they both got activated with no hitches, simply because DTV was not imposing any restriction at that time. There are currently issues with the HR34's sharing each others playlists as PGA and I have described in our posts. Beyond this, there is no pre-release testing, taboo, illegal or mysterious activities going on with HR34's taking place in my household, Sorry that DTV imposed a restriction, but I am still interested in sharing experiences and getting feedback from other forum members that are having current issues with the 2-HR34 configuration.

Sorry that DTV imposed a restriction...

You may just be "lucky" as DirecTV did an audit a while back and removed the second HR34 from accounts with two.
