It is an interesting area to skewer. I don't think they could have pulled this off during the year after Steve Jobs death--too soon.

The whole Hooli thing is an outrageous parody that strikes home pretty sharply. I loved the shots of the guy sucking up the noodles. He also is a good example of something I have never understood, which is why people think carving up their beards is a good idea.

It also presents a really authentic dilemma; do you sell out or build the project yourself, risking everything but with the potential to be uber-rich, uber-successful.

It is also a terrific fantasy to think that the compression algorithm might be something believable; I spent much of the episode either pondering the dilemma, or wishing I had come up with the algorithm.

Elon Musk didn't like it, but I think he missed the point, which is completely out of character for him, since he is one of just  few really genius tech giants. I am rooting for him to run Apple some day.

It's usually safe to talk honestly and openly with people because they typically are not really listening anyway.

If you stop responding to them or put them on ignore, then eventually they'll go away.

What's Pawn Stars have to do with anything?

HBO renews Silicon Valley for a second season (and Veep for a fourth season).

I'm really liking Silicon Valley.  I watched the main cast on At Midnight before the show aired and they were very funny together.

I think the writing is top-notch, as is the character development. The whole thing about keeping Big Head in is pretty touching. This story actually feels real, or at least like it could happen just this way.

I think if the viewer comes away with the feeling that they just can hardly wait to see what happens next, they you've really got something.

I just found that the actor that played Peter Gregory died, and the final scene he filmed was in the last episode. He had lung cancer that spread to his brain. It sounds like it still was unexpected.

The season finale was absolutely hysterical. The subject matter is not forum friendly, but anyone who saw it knows what I'm talking about!
